The COMET (COMunities of ExpertTs) EdB proposes you to exchange on the subject of the " Batteries: constraints, challenges and perspectives ".

The idea of this seminar is to have an overview on Batteries topic for several industrial applications (space, aeronautics, automotive, submarine…),  with the following objectives:

To identify the different constraints on use and the associated needs: cycling, lifetime, massic energy, volumic energy, power, temperature…
To present current solutions
To identify major issues
To identify improvements, opportunities : electrochemistry, cells, battery, system

Renault Presentation: constraints on battery (durability, safety, cooling system)/ domain use (electrical vehicle / hybrid vehicle)/ Current solutions (lithium-ion) /Researchers activities

Ifremer Presentation: application presentation and their constraints/ technology- perspectives (lithium polymer technology / cells presentation pouch cell)

Actia Presentation: application constraints, current and future solution (chemistry)

ESA Presentation: overview of European space batteries

ADS/TAS/CNES Presentation: constraints and environment of battery in space/ current solutions/ research activities

Airbus Defence and Space Presentation:  Evaluation of the use of hybrid power supply composed by lithium-ion batteries and supercapacities on electrical satellite system

Thales Alenia Space/Fraunhofer Presentation: Evaluation of the use of Li-S cells on electrical system

Saft Presentation: Overview of current and future cell technology for different application fields

ICCF Presentation: current and future materials and electrodes for lithium ion batteries.
