The term “structure” generally refers to the element that links all the constituent parts of a mechanical system and which must respond to requirements in terms of integrity (resistance to constraints), rigidity (dynamic behaviour) and stability (mission performance).
The role of the STRucture Community of Experts is to explore these subjects through the following themes:
- Structure dynamics
- Structure dimensioning, methodology and tools - digital modelling of phenomena
- Development and design of structures and consequences on dimensioning
- Characterisation process through testing and validation of models
- Use and classification of structural materials
Given the obvious overlap and interaction, many collaborative projects are carried out with the MATerials COMET.
A few examples of activities that have taken place over the last few years: Thermoplastic materials (2017), Mechanics and Materials theses (2017), Payload Comfort (2016), Additive Manufacturing (2016), etc.
